Taking a Trip Down Memory Lane

Pre-Order The Haunting of 9 Maple Square Here

Taking a Trip Down Memory Lane

As the deadline and release date for Maple Square looms near, (and yes, I'm still in the midst of mad last-minute edits) I have to take a moment out of my schedule to say what an absolute pleasure it's been to write The Jack Cohen Series and to be able to include the haunted house that I grew up in. Even though the story in the first book is not based on my family per se, our house was the backdrop, and the ghost stories contained within the ghost story have been loosely based on events that took place in our family home. But going beyond the ghost story, my mind has been swirling with all sorts of childhood memories flooding in.

Just yesterday I asked my husband if he was planning on going to Hannaford's,  and he looked at me strangely. Of course I meant our grocery store here in the South, but as I had been writing the sequel, The Haunting of 79 School Street, I guess I didn't realize how completely submerged I had become in this project. I had written the word Hannaford several times yesterday, and my mind automatically made the switch. Or Freudian slip? I am taking a trip 'home' this summer and so I really am getting caught up in being more "there" than "here" at the moment.

It's been wonderful to bring out the places I've lived and loved, and share what I remember of my time growing up in New England. Every day I'm treated to a new memory of something I'd forgotten, and it makes this project more dear to my heart. I hope you all will enjoy this new series as much as I enjoy writing it.

 Introducing the newest work from

Kimberlee Dodge!

Jack likes order and simplicity. Only his life is rarely ever simple. Jack's mind has always been bombarded with other people's intrusive thoughts. Not even the infamous Grandma Rosa could help him silence the voices in his head.

In a bold move that takes him nine hundred miles from home, Jack defies his parents and secretly enrolls in The Para-Northern Conservatory to get a handle on his gifts, instead of heading off to Dartmouth College, where his father has mapped out his life. However, upon arriving in New Hampshire, Jack finds himself homeless and desperate in quick order.

An innocent offer to rent a room is all it takes to spark a series of unexpected events that leave Jack shaken. On his first night in the boardinghouse, Jack is treated to the tale of the mysterious Blue Lady that allegedly haunts his room… but it's clear from the start that whatever is happening is not a figment of anyone's imagination. As the activity in the house increases, so does the danger to all who live at 9 Maple Square.

Coming in April!

Cover/Title Reveal!

This Saturday on the Kimi Dodge Blog:

Cover and Title Reveal for a

Brand New Series!

I am so proud to announce that there has been a new book in the works, and it's almost time to share it with the world! But before it arrives, I want to show it off a little! That's why I'm doing a cover/title reveal this Saturday!

Unlike The J Club, these new characters are slightly older than Jason and Avery and do not have the YA label, but I think readers of all ages will enjoy them. They were a lot of fun to create!

Until Saturday
